Santa Catarina Military Fire Teams completed around 6:00 pm this Monday (6) the search for a three-year-old boy who went missing in a river in Santo Amaro da Imperatriz. However, the child has not yet been found.
With the support of Ativa Rafting, military firefighters rode this Monday in an inflatable boat along a 6-kilometer section of the Kubatan River, combing the banks of the river to identify possible flooding sites.
Teams were called early in the afternoon on Saturday (4) to search for the three-year-old and were based on information provided by the boy’s family, who were in a group of at least three adults and five children.
The search for the child is hard work, firefighters say, with the CBMSC teams involved showing exceptional dedication and commitment.
According to the prefecture of Santo Amaro da Imperatriz, the boy was walking with his father, a family from the southern region of Rio. It is reported that he fell into the shallow water of the river, and no one saw him sink. Military firefighters do not rule out that the child was lost on land.
This Tuesday (7) the search on the surface will be continued by teams from the barracks of Santo Amaro da Imperatriz with the support of Ativa Rafting. The operation is also carried out by the military and civilian police of Santa Catarina.
