Minister Alexandre de Moraes of the Federal Supreme Court issued new rulings this Thursday (02) on the provisional release of prisoners for the January 8 actions in Brasilia. This time, the names of seven people from Santa Catarina are on the list of the STF system, which no data+ had access. The process still contains other decisions that are kept secret from justice.
On Tuesday (August 28), five more people from the state were also cleared for release following Moraes’ decision. Everyone will have to face trial in the city where they live. The new list contains the names of four men and three women from the cities of Joinville, Timbo, Jaragua do Sul and Balneario Barra do Sul.
Freedom was given with the measures that these people must comply with, otherwise they may return to prison. They leave with electronic bracelets and must appear in the city area once a week. In addition, their passports have been confiscated, possession of weapons has been temporarily suspended, they cannot communicate with other detainees and do not have access to social networks.
The decision was sent to the district bailiff of each city. The Attorney General’s Office and the Federal Defender’s Office were also informed electronically.
Congressman from Santa Catarina visits prisoners
Minister Alexandre de Moraes also authorized a visit by Santa Catarina MP Giulia Zanatta (PL-SC) and Senator Magno Malta (PL) to the prisoners on 8 January.
Two parliamentarians have already gone to the women’s section of the Federal District. At the time, a deputy reported that 55 women from Santa Catarina were emotionally shaken.
The deputy is leaving and is due to arrive next week.
