Ezekias Sousa Ribeiro, 27, one of the perpetrators of the bar massacre in Sinop, Mato Grosso, died in a clash with military police this Wednesday (22).
The man was found in a forested area about 15 kilometers from the city, not far from the airport. In the confrontation between him and the police, the perpetrator was wounded and died upon arrival at the hospital.
A video with strong footage is circulating on the Internet, in which a man, seriously wounded by shots in the chest and neck, sits behind the wheel of a pickup truck.
He operated with a partner, businessman Edgar Ricardo de Oliveira, 30, who also has a CAC (collector, shooter and hunter) reputation and fired most of the shots on the victims with a 12-gauge shotgun.
Oliveira remains at large, the search continues. Lawyer Marcos Vinicius Borges, representing the man, said the perpetrator would go to the police this Thursday (23).
Two men killed seven people, including a 12-year-old, after they lost a game of pool in the Jardim district of Lisbon. This Wednesday morning, civilian police confiscated a 12mm rifle and a truck used for the massacre. The material was in progress in the Vila Verde area, in the municipality.
Ezekias has a history of dealing with the police for carrying illegal weapons, theft, conspiracy, bodily harm, and threats, while Edgar has records of domestic violence.
Justice Minister Flavio Dino classified the deaths as “brutal killings” and said they were “another tragic result of an irresponsible weapons policy that has led to the proliferation of ‘shooting clubs’ supposedly for ‘good people’.” as the extreme right claims.
Among the victims is 46-year-old Adriano Balbinote from Santa Catarina. He was born in Chancera, in the west of Santa Catarina, and has been living in Mato Grosso for 23 years.
