During the week leading up to the carnival celebrations, the Blumenau Military Police in the Itajai Valley will conduct operations in the region. The purpose of the corporation is to provide security in the municipality.
The first action was held on Tuesday (14) and was designed for the work of the police and specialized support companies, including Tactical, Kennel and Rocam.
According to the Military Police, Operation Pronta Response aimed to disperse the special headquarters to all areas of the city in order to hinder the movement of criminals and ensure an effective rapid response in case of major crimes, for example, taking into account the strategic positioning of the teams.
Even according to the police, the places were chosen according to the crime rate and the circulation of people.
Police actions included approaching people with suspicious behavior and vehicles, as well as police barriers, with a focus on reducing the movement of drug users and those in conflict with the law.
The corporation said that Operation Pronta Responde, in addition to preventing the commission of serious crimes such as robbery and murder, gives people a greater sense of security, given that it marks the presence of the state, represented by the ostentatious Military Police, in various areas of the city at the same time.
No crimes recorded
The military police reported that no serious crimes were recorded during the operation, and there were no criminal phenomena in the city at different times of the day. He also emphasized that due to the impact of police actions, the consequences of the operation lead to long-term results in the field of people’s safety.
The commander of the 10th Military Police Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel Marcio Alberto Filippi, noted that “ensuring the state of public order is as important as the daily work of the teams to arrest drugs, weapons and criminals.”
Marcio also said that the impact of social order is seen in a sharp drop in crime rates, especially in the period leading up to an important date such as carnival.
Over the course of the week, the 10th Military Police Battalion will continue operations in various parts of the city to ensure a greater police presence and reduce crime.
