The magnitude 7.8 earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria on the 6th killed more than 37,000 people. More than a week after the aftershock left a trail of destruction, the death toll continues to rise. Despite this, there are still people being rescued alive, as in the case of a woman who was pulled from the rubble after almost 9 days.
The victim spent 201 hours buried and alone. Emine Akgul, 26, was rescued in Hatay, Turkey. She was still conscious when she was rescued.
The woman is one of the survivors who spent more hours underground. In addition to her, other rescuers turned the world upside down, for example, the case of a 10-day-old baby who was rescued 90 hours after the shock.
Three other youths were also rescued alive after 198 hours in the rubble.

worst disaster
On Tuesday (14), the WHO (World Health Organization) defined the recent earthquake as the “worst natural disaster” in Europe in a hundred years.
The agency’s organizational director for the region, Hans Kluge, commented at a press conference that experts had not yet finished measuring the magnitude of the disaster. “Its true value is not yet known, and it will take a lot of time and effort to recover and heal,” he explained.
