The civil police of Santa Catarina arrested this Friday (3) another member of the gang under investigation in the murder of app driver Luciano Araujo. The crime happened on September 22 last year. The suspect was found in the community of Serrinha in Carvoeira in Florianopolis.
The investigation initially focused on investigating a group that broke into an elderly couple’s home in the Praia da Pineira area on 23 September and stole several items. However, during the investigation it turned out that the same group committed the crime against the driver the day before.

The application driver has been missing since the morning of September 22, when he left for work. The latest information about the move is that the registered final destination was Arcanjo Candido da Silva in the Praia de Fora area of Palos.
Luciano was a resident of the Itacorubi neighborhood in Florianopolis and went out at 5am to go for a run using the InDrive app. The family found it strange that Luciano did not pick up their daughter from school.
His wife Vera Lucia de Araujo tried several times to get through to Luciano. Cell phone calls were not answered and messages sent were not returned, according to the BO (Boletim de Occurrence) filed by Vera.
The body of the driver was found in Palos on September 23 by a resident of the region in the thickets along the Spanish road, according to the Prime Minister (military police). The weapon used in the murder of Luciano was a knife.

The same gang that killed the former driver is responsible for breaking into the nursing home, according to civilian police. The crime took place on the night of September 23, when three armed men broke into the residence of an elderly couple, located in Praia da Pinheira. The men threatened the elderly and started stealing items. They then left without being identified.
The next morning, police investigators determined that during the robbery, the perpetrators used a Hyundai/HB20 vehicle belonging to the app’s driver, who was killed the previous day.
After the arrest, the prisoner was sent for a detention hearing and will remain at the disposal of justice.
