A 42-year-old man was arrested on Saturday evening (04) after a traffic accident while driving under the influence in Rio do Sul, in Alto Vale do Itajai. The case was registered around 21:45 on Rua Angelo Slomp in the Sumare district.
The military police were called to respond to the incident when a man tried to flee the scene of the accident in an apparent state of intoxication.
According to the testimony of the crew, the driver of the GM Corsa Wind turned against the road and collided with the VW Novo Voyage. After the collision, he tried to flee, and the driver of the Voyage followed him to Rua Brasil, where he waited for the arrival of the police.
The police found that the man was drunk, had difficulty holding an upright position and spoke indistinctly. He admitted to drinking alcohol all day.
A breathalyzer test (known as a breathalyzer) was performed, during which intoxication was confirmed. The police also consulted the SISP (Integrated Public Safety System) and found that the person’s CNH (national driving license) had been suspended.
He was arrested red-handed and taken to the civilian police station.
