The robbery ended in a shootout at Monte Castelo, on the northern plateau of Santa Catarina. It was this Thursday (2), around 22:00, in the city of San Roque (Agudos), within the territory of the municipality.
The victim told the military police that two men armed with a revolver and a machete broke into the house, reported the theft and handed over the residents.
The perpetrators ransacked the house and stole a chainsaw, step (a set of wheels and tires), 24 cans of beer, several liters of spirits (distilled) and 450 reais in cash. After that, they fled in a red GM Kadett towards the Rio da Serra area.
Based on the information transmitted and support from the garrisons of Canoignas, Mafra, Monte Castelo and Papanduva, a siege was carried out in the area. After that, the garrison of Prime Minister Monte Castelo discovered the vehicle used in the crime. However, the driver began to accelerate, fleeing towards the BR-116 highway. According to the Prime Minister, it was at great speed.
There was persecution. The criminals entered the plot of land and eventually fell into a ravine. The Kadett passengers abandoned the car, which was still running, and fled. They got into a shootout with the police.
With the arrival of support teams in the forested area and some existing buildings nearby, a search was carried out, but the perpetrators of the fact could not be identified.
Items stolen from the victim’s home were found inside the car and taken to the courtyard of the Monte Castelo military police group.
