Civilian police have demanded the preventive arrest of Lincoln businessman Zagi Junior, who shot and killed a customer last Saturday in a bar in San Jose, Greater Florianopolis (28). The injured Utan Guarasai da Rosa Camargo, aged 38, died at the scene.
Until 11:30 this Friday (3), there was still no information whether the judiciary granted the police request.
The request for pre-trial detention was confirmed by San Jose Regional Delegate Manoel Galeno. Lincoln was charged with voluntary manslaughter with intent to kill by the civilian police.
A businessman who works in luxury beauty salons testified via video link on Wednesday (1st).
According to lawyer Bruno Gastao da Rosa, Zagi Junior stated that he “did not expect the outcome of death and that Utan was not even involved in the crime, but went after Lincoln, which caused a reaction of gunshots.”
The defense alleges that he acted in self-defence. “He acted in a reflex act of defense, and, unfortunately, the victim died,” the lawyer emphasized. The message tried to contact a lawyer to ask about the request for pre-trial detention, but did not receive a response. Space is open.
According to police, the crime occurred after a businessman received a traffic ticket in front of the São José bar. Since he thought that the owner of the establishment had filed a complaint that resulted in a fine, he went there to get satisfaction.
Utan then witnessed Zagi Jr.’s threats against the bar owner and intervened. The suspect was armed and shot Utan in the chest, who died at the scene.
Utan’s family and friends demand justice
Uthan worked as a waiter in a bar in Florianopolis. Friends of the victim regret what happened and demand justice. In social networks, friends described the victim as a “good-natured, simple and friendly person.”
“How unfair and cowardly all this is,” a friend wrote. “We ask the authorities to investigate and punish,” wrote another person.
