This Friday, a boat caught fire at a shipyard in Navegantes, on the north coast of Santa Catarina (29). The fire started in the hold of the ship, which filled with smoke. There were no casualties.
The boat Dona Santina V was at the Macarini shipyard in Navegantes when the flames started.
At about 18:00, the fire department was called, and, having arrived at the scene, the shipyard employees, as well as the crew of two tugboats moored at the pier, tried to put out the fire of the vessel.
The fire engulfed the hold of the boat, but the smoke from the fire filled the entire ship.
Firefighters used a positive pressure fan to remove the smoke and help them get to the damaged area.
After entering the basement, the fire was extinguished, which concentrated in the compartment that housed several batteries, as well as in the electrical part above the basement ceiling.
The fire only reached the inside of the vessel. There were no casualties.
