Rodeo Mayor Valdecir Ferrari has confirmed a third death after heavy rain hit the municipality between Tuesday evening (17) and Wednesday morning (18).
The victim is a one and a half year old child. On Wednesday morning, a 30-year-old man and a 4-year-old girl were also found lifeless (18). The victims died after a landslide in the community of Diamantina Pico.
According to preliminary information, the dead had to be from the same family and lived at the scene for about 20 days. The military fire department is still searching for the two missing.
According to firefighters, at dawn it was necessary to climb about a kilometer along the road on foot, overcoming three landslides, along a highway with a large volume of water descending from the hill. There were isolated families.
The house was found destroyed, and part of the building was dragged across a stream that flows along the road. Three residents of nearby residential buildings were removed by firefighters from their homes as the facility is still a danger.
