Acting mayor Maria Regina Soar signed on Monday morning (16) a decree on the state of readiness due to problems with the water supply in Blumenau, in the Itajai valley. This measure was announced at a press conference.
Since Friday (March 13), several areas of the city have faced supply problems due to the turbidity of the Itajai Asu River. The outages come after heavy rains in Alto Vale do Itajaí.
By decree, Samae is authorized to conduct inspections throughout the city to test sewage. The agency has already advised residents not to wash sidewalks or cars with hoses, as well as other types of waste and unsustainable use of water.
According to the decree, Inspector Samae, who witnessed the waste of water, is authorized to verbally notify the owner of the property, noting the date and time of the incident. After the persistence is checked, the inspector gives the date of occurrence of the violation, fixing the fact.
In the event of a new relapse, the inspector has the right to suspend the water supply to the facility for 72 hours with the reconnection service charged and a fine that can reach 25 times the minimum water tariff for the category of consumers.
While maintaining a relapse, breaks can be made twice as long, and the size of the previously imposed fine can also be repeatedly increased.
