A man was arrested this week as a suspect in the murder of Velinton Rossi Pereira, 36, who was killed on November 20 in Garuva, north of Santa Catarina. The victim was killed by multiple gunshots to the face in the Vila Trevo area.

After the crime, the civilian police identified the suspect in the murder of Wellinton and found that he had already been convicted of the murder in Paraná. In the face of this, steps were taken to determine where he would hide.

On Friday (16), following an investigation coordinated by Chief Eduardo Defaveri, civilian police carried out a search, seizure and arrest warrant against a suspect who was allegedly hiding on a farm in rural Garuwa. They found him in one of the houses.

The police still found three firearms, two silencers for weapons, ammunition, in addition to cell phones and a laptop, from the detained man. The man was also arrested red-handed for illegal possession of legal and restricted firearms.

He was taken to the police station and then transferred to Joinville prison.
