Mayor Topazio Silveira (PSD) has already signed a contract renewal order with Pavicon Construções, which will take six months to complete works on Praça XV streets and surroundings. Thus, it is predicted that the so-called fundamental core of the city will be re-qualified by the end of June 2023.
The revival is a long-standing requirement of traders, who, however, are concerned about the impact of work in the middle of the summer season. It is likely that this issue will be considered when determining the locations where interventions will initially take place.
The project leaves the drawing board almost three years after it was unveiled and has undergone some reformulations in connection with the discussion about the preservation of historical stones.
The most recent version to be implemented supports almost 100% cobblestones and expands the walking space that non-slip granite will receive while maintaining fine pavé tipping.
