The criminal scheme of the millionaire, uncovered by the civil police in Blumenau, in the valley of Itajai, began with a telephone call.

The woman saw the actions of the criminals at the time of the kidnapping of two bank employees in the courtyard of the Havan store in Indayal. Seeing what is happening, the woman immediately begins to call for help.

A group of people approached and immediately noticed that the women were transferring from one car to another. Realizing that it was a kidnapping, the woman’s son calls the military police.

Faced with threats, they forced the women into the car of one of them, making them hostages. It is noteworthy that one of the victims was pregnant. The military police managed to locate the stolen vehicle in a BR-470. After a chase, the Prime Minister managed to free them after a confrontation with the criminals.

The civil police also determined that on the day of the crime, the robbers had followed the victims from Beira Río Avenue, where the bank branch was located, to the city of Indayal.

Investigations

An investigation by the civilian police revealed that the purpose of those involved was to steal the bank notebooks the victims had in order to “break into” bank accounts. According to the civil police, the criminals stole more than 2.6 million reais from several bank accounts. A new police investigation was launched to find out the destination of the money.

At a press conference, civilian police delegate Rodrigo Raites said the investigation had begun after civilian police investigative teams received some of the images.

“From the very beginning of the investigation, a group went to the place, and from that moment we managed to get some images and, in fact, prove that, although it was mentioned that it was a kidnapping, it was actually a robbery. From here, we were able to identify, in addition to the perpetrators, this criminal structure and the group that organized it,” he said.

Bank manager assistance

A key participant was involved in the theft: the manager of the bank where the victims worked.

He was responsible for passing confidential information to the group, such as passwords and logins to access the banking system and personal files of the victims, including on the day of the crime. All this with the promise of a reward of 500,000 reais.
