Sara Bealvo Ribeiro, 23, born in Rio Grande do Sul, was stabbed to death by her son’s father this Wednesday morning (7) in Jaragua do Sul, north of Santa Catarina.
Sarah’s son, a nine-month-old baby, was also stabbed. The two were rescued by the Volunteer Fire Department and Samu and taken to the hospital. Sarah was already in critical condition. Unfortunately, it didn’t last.
The crime took place on Rua João Planincheck, in the Nova Brasília area, around 11 am. The prime suspect in the murder and another attempted murder is the baby’s father and Sarah’s ex-partner.
The man was detained by military police. At the police station, he remained silent during interrogation, said delegate Roberta France, holder of the DPCAMI Jaragua do Sul.
The man, identified as Luis Ricardo da Silva, 31, born in Jaragua do Sul, has police passes for domestic violence, traffic offenses, rape of the vulnerable and bodily harm, among other crimes.
He was sent to prison and will later have a custody hearing.
Police also confirmed that Sarah had a measure of protection from the child’s father, but that measure was lifted in August.
There is no information yet on who will stay with the child, but he should be under the care of the closest family members to the mother.
Sadness
The House of Councilors of Jaragua do Sul deplored another murder of a woman in the municipality and issued a note of regret. See below in full.
sorry note
“The Chamber of Councilors and the Office of the Attorney for Women of Jaragua do Sul express their deep regret at another case of the murder of women in our municipality. Sarah Bealvo Ribeiro, 23, was stabbed to death this Wednesday, the 7th, at her home by her former partner. Her son, a 10-month-old baby, was also injured, but fortunately he is doing well. The ex-partner was arrested. The young woman had already received assistance from the Women’s Prosecutor’s Office at Casa de Leis Jaraguaense and had protective measures against her former partner. She was also a social rent recipient of the City Hall of Jaragua do Sul. Unfortunately, all the efforts were not enough for Sarah to start her life anew. At Midweek Mobilizing Men Against Violence Against Women, we stand in solidarity with family and friends and highlight the importance of investing in effective action to change the behavior of society as a whole in the fight against violence against women. “.
