Itajai military police on the north coast of South Carolina were called to respond to a domestic violence incident on Tuesday evening (6) in the São Juan area. The suspect had a measure of protection that determined the removal of the victim, which was not observed.
The incident took place around 7:30 pm on Teodoro Luis Pereira Street in the São João area of Itajaí. The 56-year-old victim was interviewed by the military police, who explained that she had already registered a police report against her ex-husband two days ago.
On this occasion, a bulletin was registered on de facto threats and injuries in the context of the María da Peña Law. A protective measure was also requested.
On the night of Tuesday, and even with an already approved document, the man returned to the victim’s house, threatening to throw her out of the house, not to mention a few curses.
The couple’s 35-year-old daughter told police that her father was a heavy drinker and a few days ago he came to her mother’s house drunk and assaulted her.
In both cases, the daughter witnessed attacks and threats. The 61-year-old suspect was asked if he knew about protective measures, and he answered in the affirmative.
He was arrested for threats, bodily harm and failure to comply with protective measures.
