A woman was injured while trying to protect her son from an attack on Monday evening (21). They live in Barra do Rio, in Itajai, on the north coast of Santa Catarina.

The 47-year-old victim told police that her husband, as soon as he returned home from the bar, threw a helmet at her. Soon after, he would take a kitchen knife to stab the victim’s son.

It was at this moment that the woman stood in front of her son to protect him. She was wounded in the right hand. The woman was visited at UPA (Ready Service Unit) Cordeiros.

When the officers arrived, the man was in the house. He was taken to the center of the Itajai police station. According to police, he showed signs of intoxication. He said he was just arguing with the victim and didn’t try to attack her.
