The 39-year-old man went fishing and disappeared in Uruguay, in the municipality of Mondai, in the far west of Santa Catarina. According to family members and witnesses, he was supposed to leave by boat on Thursday (17) and not return.
On this Monday (21) the canoes of the Mondaí military firefighters began to search the river. The ship was found near the city of Itapiranga over the weekend, when searches began in the region.
The ship had to pass about 30 km along the riverbed between Mondai and Itapiranga. The man was in a wooden box with a stern engine.
In the afternoon, searches were carried out, leaving the ferry port of Mondai and going down the river to the village of the Katres line. The search was supported by Itapiranga military firefighters who sent three firefighters as well as a jet ski to search the smaller areas, but were unsuccessful.
Searches were suspended early Monday evening and will resume on Tuesday morning (22). There are no other details about the victim yet.
