Joao Cordeiro Filho, 72, known as Bala, was found dead at his home in Praia do Forte, in São Francisco do Sul, on the north coast of Santa Catarina.
João, who was born in Mafra, lived in the same house for about 30 years. He was found by friends lying near his house with a flashlight in his hands.
When the friends stumbled upon Joao’s body, they called the volunteer fire department.
Military police, civilian police and scientific police were on the scene.
Sao Francisco do Sul delegate Rodrigo Vicentini is investigating the case, including awaiting expert opinion to formally confirm the cause of death, including the hypothesis of natural death.
According to the commander of the military police, Lieutenant Colonel Gilton Franzoni de Abreu, there were no signs of violence and Joao had all his belongings.
“The science police are investigating the cause, but so far there is nothing to indicate that your death was criminal,” he analyzes.
The civil police are investigating the fire in the house of Joao Cordeiro Filho after his death.
However, the fire department said they had not been called to deal with the fire.
