This Friday, the National President of the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB), Beto Simonetti, was in Blumenau, in Medio Vale (14). The lawyer took part in the OAB de Blumenau event and spoke about the elections during the lecture.
Simonetti commented on the constitutional and institutional role of the OAB, which is enhanced during the electoral process in Brazil.
According to the president, the organization’s activities are aimed at protecting democracy. “The people choose and we welcome,” he said.
The meeting was also attended by OAB National Vice President Rafael Horn of Santa Catarina and OAB SC President Claudia Prudencio. The event also featured a photo of lawyer Maria Terezinha Erbs, which became part of the gallery of former OAB Presidents Blumenau and Pomerode.
The president of the local organization, Rodrigo Eduardo Zete, recalled that 15 years ago, OAB Blumenau did not receive the maximum powers of the organization.
“President Simonetti heard directly and clearly from our lawyers the request for even stronger action to protect the prerogatives of professionals. Especially in access to the processes in which our clients are prosecuted and subject to legal sanctions, without full access to the relevant processes,” he stressed.
