The rain that continues to fall has left workers stranded at a plant in rural Tangara Municipality in Santa Catarina’s Midwest. They were rescued by the military fire department using a boat around 10:15 am on Tuesday (11).
According to firefighters, 15 workers were stranded on a flax line due to the spill of the Bonito River. The garrison rescued the workers with the help of the company’s own boat and tractor.
After dismantling, the workers were safely transported by company vehicles. Rescuers instructed the head of the company to wait for the rain to stop and lower the river level to return to normal activities.

In the municipality of Videira, also in the state’s Midwest, firefighters rescued residents stuck in a house on Rua Santa Maria in the De Carly neighborhood. There were three tenants in the house. Due to heavy rain, the water was about 80 cm above ground level.
Firefighters ordered them to leave the apartment building, helping to take out some personal belongings and belongings of the residents themselves. Other residents have been warned of the risk of the river’s increase in volume. Civil defense was in place and helped the population. Residents were safely dropped off at neighbors’ houses.
