The Municipality of Jaragua, through the Secretariats of Economic Development and Innovation, Administration and Planning and Urbanism, has introduced to entrepreneurs associated with Acijs the Jaragua do Sul Reindustrialization Program called “Special Sectors for Sustainable Industrialization” (six). The initiative consists of a plan to increase the city’s revenue, create jobs, and develop the municipality’s economy. To implement the plan, the mayor’s office has reserved an area of 13 km², which has enough space to install up to 594 industries with an area of 15,000 m².

The program consists of the reservation of three areas in Jaragua capable of implementing the industry. Spaces have been reserved in areas such as between João Pessoa and Santa Luzia (Six Northern), between Río Cerro II and the beginning of the Serra de Pomerode (Six Sul), and between Nereu Ramos and the border with Corupa (Six Sul .West). Territories should be occupied by sustainable projects, that is, those that reduce the impact on the environment while preserving nature in settlements.

Another stimulus is innovation, allowing established industries to create more added value. The project was designed to increase the participation of municipalities in the state’s economy, taking into account the need for changes in connection with the data in recent years in this sector. According to the municipal secretariat for economic development and innovation, since 2010 the municipality has begun to reduce its participation in the collection of the state ICMS. Even with an 86% increase in value added (VA) over the past 13 years, participation in the state fee of VAS has decreased by 39%.
In order to make the Six possible, the city of Jaragua do Sul submitted to the city council bill no. 65/2022, enacting a law that will regulate the conduct of commercial, service and production activities in rural areas of the municipality. The text has already been approved by the councilors in the first and second votes. According to the mayor’s office, among the main goals of the changes are “the need to establish criteria for the occupation and use of rural land, predict and control demographic density, encourage the promotion of innovative production models and harmonize economic and industrial activities with the countryside.”
Economic Development and Innovation Minister Thiago Sarmagno says all industrial development has been designed with respect for nature in mind. “These areas have been designed in strategic areas of the municipality, to the north, west and south of our territory, and as the name suggests, they will be areas of sustainable industrialization in compliance with the permits established in the Master Plan for Territorial Development. An organization that allows the establishment of companies with a technological bias and increase the added value of the municipality,” he emphasizes.

Changes in land use and occupation in rural areas are due to the fact that companies that want to settle in the city find it difficult to find large, competitively priced areas in urban areas, leading many to choose to set up their companies in other cities. .
“The city of Jaragua do Sul is known both nationally and internationally for the power of its industry. This heritage and the effectiveness of public administration has allowed us to build a reference city in education, health and safety, attracting many people from all over Brazil to come here and live here,” concludes Thiago.
