Police officers from the 6th police station of Joinville, with the support of the civilian police of Paraná, launched the 4th phase of Operation Ereditas against a gang suspected of embezzlement operating in the northern region of Santa Catarina. Warrants for provisional arrest and search and seizure were executed. Bank cards, fake banking documents and other items used for criminal purposes were also seized.

According to the delegate in charge of the operation, Rodrigo Bueno Gusso, holder of the 6th DP of Joinville, a man was arrested in Curitiba. She was on the run and during the investigation was discovered and arrested on Monday morning.

In total, including this Monday, four members of the gang have already been detained. The three previous arrests were made in previous phases of the operation, during which drugs and weapons were also seized.

According to Delegate Gusso, what remains is to arrest the gang member. His identity has already been established by the civilian police. You can be arrested at any moment.

The victims suffered losses in the amount of more than 200 thousand reais.

This gang was notorious for winning ticket and inheritance scams. In the northern region of the state alone, three were affected, losing over BRL 200,000. The victims registered a statement with the police, the investigation was carried out and completed. Two have already been filed, and one of them has filed a complaint.

Also, according to the delegate, this gang also committed crimes in the cities in the hinterland of Parana. The civilian police have information about a coup in Parana, which cost about 600,000 reais. There are also reports of victims of the same gang from other cities in Santa Catarina.

Some members of this gang, such as a woman arrested in the early stages of the operation, have been involved in criminal activities for about 15 years. The man arrested this Monday has been suspected of embezzlement for about seven years.

“The next step is to close the investigation, continue to exchange evidence with civilian police in other cities and states such as Parana, and arrest the last member of the gang,” said delegate Rodrigo Bueno Gusso.

Civilian police officers from the Garuwa County Police Station also supported the action on Monday.

The name Operação Hereditas comes from a legacy due to a hereditary coup.
