A 35-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of stabbing and punching his wife in the face in Chancera, west of Santa Catarina. A case of domestic violence was registered around 20:00 on Sunday (9).

According to the prime minister (military police), the man resisted arrest and bit the agents in order to escape prison. The garrison arrested the man for violence against women and took the suspect to the police station for trial. Police did not say if the man had a history of passes to the police.
