Around 2 a.m., the Prime Minister’s garrison was called to Militao Schneider Street in the Ponta Aguda area due to a gunshot on a public road. On the spot, the garrison managed to find two minors who matched the characteristics of the complaint.
When approaching the two teenagers, a body search was carried out, during which the police found a Taurus PT 838 pistol-type firearm with a scratched number and a Taurus .38 revolver. In addition to 17 rounds of cal. 38, 20 gauge 380 rounds, three cal. 09 mm, two magazines (for pistols of caliber 380 and 9 mm), bag, cell phone, 111.25 reais and miscellaneous items.
In the face of the facts, the suspects were detained, a police report was drawn up, and both were taken to the civilian police station.
The delegate who received the case, Bruno Effori, said the teens confirmed they had weapons. “They said they were testing a weapon that they had just purchased through Facebook for about 4,000 reais,” he said, on the condition that police find other ammunition, a replica firearm, and some counterfeit $50 bills in the teens’ home.
The two teenagers were heard along with their parents and released to the custody of the Children and Youth Court.
