A 5-year-old boy named William Gabriel died Tuesday (4) while cleaning a hot air balloon in Porto Belo on the north coast of Santa Catarina. The military fire department worked, which, after numerous attempts at resuscitation, confirmed the death of the child.

Crews were called in to treat the boy, who was supposed to have an airway obstruction, a condition the technical team called “Ovache”, caused by a bladder condition, the fire team said.

While they were still moving to the indicated place, firefighters already found a car with emergency lights on, people waved to the rescuers, but they could not save the child.

William went into cardiac and respiratory arrest, and in the first minutes of being treated by firefighters, the boy already showed signs of cyanosis, with dilated pupils.

Nevertheless, the rescuers carried out resuscitation for 45 minutes, but, unfortunately, even after the balloon was removed, the boy did not react in any way.

The child was known to the community of Porto Belo, on social networks, many people paid tribute to William and expressed solidarity with the baby’s family.
