The section of SC-135 between Cacador and Rio das Antas in the Santa Catarina Midwest has been given a new look. The highway has been upgraded on a 16 km route that now has new asphalt, third lanes and improved signage. The work was carried out by Acting Governor Moacir Sopelsa this Wednesday morning (28) in the presence of authorities, secretaries of state and the public in Rio das Antas.

“An infrastructure project like this is needed to connect the municipalities in a prosperous region that contributes greatly to the development of the state. This is more security and quality of life for people,” emphasizes Acting Governor Moasir Sopelsa.
The mayor of Rio das Antas, João Carlos Munaretto, says the work is a dream come true for the municipality. “We have been waiting for this moment for a long time, not only because of the economic value that work brings, because of the comfort it provides to a citizen who travels to study and work, but also because, of course, this work will save lives that got lost along the way. We just have to thank you,” praises Munaretto.
The Mayor said that the Infrastructure and Mobility Secretariat was also already working on a project to build access roads to a second bridge in the municipality, which would divert heavy traffic from the city centre.
Mayors of Caçador Alencar Méndez and Videira Dorival Borga also thanked for the work done in the region and emphasized its importance for the safety of those traveling on the highway and for economic development, reducing distances and facilitating the logistics of transporting goods. production.
SC-135 in the region crosses a section bordering mainly rural holdings intended for versatile agricultural work. Activities range from raising poultry and pigs to planting fruit, from milk production to reforestation and growing mate.

Alice Poloski, who has lived in Rio das Antas for more than 70 years, says he could not have imagined witnessing the moment the work was delivered. “We almost don’t even believe that this is a reality, because the work never came out, and now it was ready quickly,” he notes.

According to Acting Secretary of State for Infrastructure and Mobility, Alexandre Martins da Silva, the SC-135 section between Cásador and Rio das Antas has been resurfaced with increased capacity (third lanes) and widening of the river’s headwaters. Bridge over the Rio do Peixe in Rio das Antas.
In addition, gabion walls (retaining slopes) were built and the so-called “Devil’s Throat” curve, a point with a high accident rate, was adjusted. At the ceremony, the secretary noted that the SC-135 revitalization work is still in full swing up to Videira with an investment of 29 million reais.
