A 51-year-old woman suffered a femicide attempt by her partner, a 35-year-old man, on Tuesday evening (27) in Navegantes, on the north coast of Santa Catarina.

According to the military police report, the garrison was called to the Machados area to kill a woman. Arriving at the victim’s residence, they found the suspect near the house covered in blood after stabbing the woman herself.

A team of military firefighters had already arrived at the scene and provided first aid to the victim, who was lying on the floor and had injuries to her right arm and forearm, as well as blood all over her body due to injuries.

According to the couple’s neighbor, she heard cries for help, and when she went out into the backyard, she saw a bloodied woman who asked for help, and the suspect hugged her and did not let anyone near him, asking to call the police because he would turn himself in.

The victim was unable to report anything to the police due to the severity of his injuries. After receiving medical attention, the man was taken to the IGP (General Institute of Expertise) for a forensic medical examination, and then, with the knife used in the crime, was taken to the Itajai police station.
