“At the meeting, the municipal leadership was ready to make an agreement with the parish priest in order to make the best decisions for road mobility in the region, especially the work on Deputado António Edu Vieira and colleagues from the municipal government,” said the UFSC. .
Also, according to the university, the main agenda of the meeting was the deadline for the completion of work on the duplication of streets, the purpose of which is to improve the flow of vehicles and pedestrians around the campus. Bicycle paths, pedestrian paths and access roads will be improved on the territory.
According to the city, the handover should take place early next year, before the start of the first half of 2023.
Mobility problems “The university has a huge intelligence that the city does not use. It is important to propose projects that use this information,” said Topazio Neto, presenting the mayor’s office proposals to the dean regarding the construction of bike paths, sidewalks and the revitalization of streets and avenues around the university.
The mayor’s office has signaled that it will fulfill its part of the square’s deadline with the construction of a new CDS (Sports Centre) building, the main one being the delay in duplicating Rua Antonio Edu Vieira. The investment amount is still being discussed, but the project will be reviewed and restructured by the municipality.
“In regards to UFSC internal roads, the city has proposed that Via Delfino Conti between CTC (Technology Center) and CCS (Health Sciences Center) in the Trindade area be one-way traffic. However, the technical specialists of the university argued that due to the change in the use of Praça da Cidadanya, this strategy should be reconsidered. This issue will be discussed.”
