Seven Santa Catarina gubernatorial candidates in the 2022 elections have received two pamphlets in their hands that can fund their campaigns and government plans. The delivery took place at Fiesc (Federation of Industry of the State of Santa Catarina), in Florianopolis, on Thursday morning (22).
The organization has prepared and provided candidates with a “Carta da Indústria Santa Catarina”, which presents priority actions for Santa Catarina’s industrial sector.
Another piece, Election 2022 – Brazil votes for small businesses, was presented by Sebrae (Brazilian Support Service for Micro and Small Businesses).
Industry sees transport infrastructure as unreliable
Fiesc President Mario Cesar de Aguiar noted that industry in Santa Catarina is the sector that employs the most in the state and collects the most taxes. He also spoke about the importance of opening the doors of the federation to listen to questions and help the new government in the further development of the state.
When asked about the priority, Aguiar did not hesitate: infrastructure. “The transport infrastructure of Santa Catarina is extremely unreliable and this issue is central for us to address in the future government,” Aguiar concluded.
He also recalled that due to fiscal constraints, the country does not have a resource to fully meet the state’s needs for infrastructure. “We’re advocating concessions, public-private partnerships, and additional investment from the federal government to address the issue.”
In addition, Aguiar stressed that the federation explained in the document that it opposes any increase in the tax burden and advocates administrative, tax and tax reforms. “We need to reduce the tax burden to make our industry more competitive.”
Aguiar mentioned that Santa Catarina is a state with a diversified industry and that a lot of input was made into the creation of the document. “We listen to all sectors, collect, synthesize and deliver to candidates. Of course, this is a cross-cutting vision of the entire industry in Santa Catarina,” he stressed.
At the event, politicians applying for the position of governor of Santa Catarina signed the terms of the agreement with a letter. “Industry plays an important role in creating jobs and taxes, so this activity should be heard within the government,” Aguiar said.
In addition to receiving the requirements at Fiesc, the candidates had 10 minutes to submit their proposals to the State Industrialists and another five minutes for final consideration.
Persons associated with parties with representation in Alesca (State Legislative Assembly of Santa Catarina) were invited: Odair Tramontin (Novo), Desio Lima (Portugal), Esperidian Amin (PP), Jorge Boira (PDT), Carlos Moises (representative) , Jean Loureiro (UB) and Jorginho Mello (PL).
Grupo ND President Marcello Correa Petrelli told Fiesc about the importance of the act that brought candidates to the government.
“It is important to bring the commitment and knowledge of the candidates into a single agenda of what Fiesc thinks in order to be able to subsidize them after the election and create a coherent government in which the entrepreneur can continue to bet, invest, generate employment and income,” Petrelli argued. .
Requirements of micro and small entrepreneurs
Like Fiesc, Sebrae took advantage of Thursday morning to provide candidates with a program for micro and small entrepreneurs. Also at the Fiesc headquarters, Sebrae/SC CEO Carlos Fonseca presented candidates with the document “Election 2022, Brazil Vote Small Business”.
The document is defined in the presentation: “it aims to provide grants to candidates so that they have an expanded understanding of the role of MSEs (micro and small companies) and how they can contribute to business improvement. environment and increasing the participation of small businesses in the economy. The document was organized by Sebrae based on dialogue with other sectors of the economy and their organizations, as well as with partner institutions.”
According to Fonseca, there are almost 900,000 micro and small companies in the state, or 97% of Santa Catarina’s businesses and 42% of GDP. In addition, eight of the 10 jobs created in 2021 and the first half of 2022 were created by the state’s MSEs.
“There are 10 MSE programs in the document where Sebrae can be a partner and government involvement is important,” Fonseca said. In his opinion, it is important that candidates pay attention to the importance of the MMP from Santa Catarina.
“We are talking about almost all companies, so programs such as reducing bureaucracy, tax regime, credit, regulatory framework, innovation and technology are necessary for the development of MSE. In the document, we not only propose, but are also ready to help the state find these solutions,” Fonseca repeated.
The seven candidates, according to Sebrae’s President-Director, have committed to include the MSE agenda in their government’s plans.
