A 34-year-old man was arrested this Thursday (1st day) in Ilkhot, in the Itajai valley. He was issued an arrest warrant for five manslaughter in a traffic accident. The warrant was issued April 7th.

The accident that resulted in the man’s conviction took place in 2012 when the man was driving a BR-101 at kilometer 103 in Balneario Pizarras. He faced fencing and drove into the oncoming lane, colliding with two cars traveling in the opposite direction.

As a result of the accident, four passengers died on the spot, while the fifth passenger was taken to the Marieta Conder Bornhausen hospital in Itajai, where she also died. Passengers in other vehicles were injured.

The man was in the center of Ilkhota, and after he was approached, he was informed about the contents of the arrest warrant. He already knew about the issuance of the document.

The man received a vote of arrest and was taken to the Gaspard police station for appropriate procedures, and then sent to the Blumenau Regional Prison, which is now at the disposal of the judiciary.
