The DPCAMI (Children, Adolescents, Women and Seniors Protection Office) duty in Florianopolis will have a new address as of this Thursday (1st). From 8:00 to 19:00 from Monday to Friday, the device will operate as usual. However, on weekends and at night, the service will take place exclusively at the police station (CPP) in the capital, in the Trindade area, which has been refurbished.

The new service structure will include a “Lilac Room” to receive victims of domestic violence. “There will also be a qualification that will involve female civilian police officers in order to accurately promote the specialized assistance that women and adolescents in conflict with the law need,” emphasized the Director of Police of Greater Florianopolis, Delegate Michele Alves Correa Rebelo.

According to the director, “in this way, every egregious situation in the capital will be considered at a checkpoint with a specialized service and around the clock.”

Humanized Service

The civil police explained that the reform is being carried out in partnership with two private companies and with the penitentiary system. “The detainees will help with the work that will be carried out in the structure of the checkpoint, which will receive internal and external painting and landscaping. It is expected that by the end of the year the work will be handed over to the population,” the institution said.

According to the law enforcement agency, “the challenge is to adapt the space to encourage humane care, especially in relation to egregious situations and the reception of women victims of domestic violence.”
