The body of a 38-year-old woman was found at a depth of 4.5 meters in a water tank in the hinterland of Ypora do Oeste, west of Santa Catarina. The military fire department conducted an early afternoon search this Friday (19) on the Pirageu line.
According to rescuers, the victim allegedly fell into the tank. Firefighters confirmed that the entrance to the scene was open and the victim’s pair of boots were floating.
The searches began with flashlights and a tarpaulin being opened to improve visibility, but even so nothing could be identified. A diving team was called in and attempted to scan with an underwater camera, but could not find it.
The team decided to dive and found the body of a woman at a depth of 4.5 meters, next to the inlet of the tank. According to reports from family members to firefighters, it was part of the woman’s daily routine to visit the scene of the accident to check the water level and then activate the water pump.
The body was removed and placed in the care of the military police until the arrival of the scientific police and civilian police.
