On Sunday night (7) in the municipalities of Cunha Pora and Iraceminha, west of Santa Catarina, two buses full of weapons, drugs and cigarettes smuggled in from Paraguay were confiscated. Agents from PRF (Federal Highway Police), PM (Military Police) and Gaeco (Special Action Group to Combat Organized Crime) participated in the operation.
In Kunya Pora, the military police approached the bus after checking it. In the car, 10 Turkish-made 9-mm Kanik pistols were found, as well as a 12-gauge shotgun, as well as 50.5 kg of crack and 55,000 packs of cigarettes.
In addition to contraband items, counterfeit banknotes worth 10,100 reais in the amount of 10,100 reais, several vials of anabolic steroids and abortifacients were seized.
At a gas station in Iraseminje, Gaeco and PRF officers approached another bus. It contained 200,000 packs of cigarettes from Paraguay.
The drivers were arrested at the scene of the crime for dealing in drugs and weapons, as well as for smuggling. Both were taken to the Chapeco Federal Police Department. The products were also delivered to the police station.
