The silence after the crime was broken by the family of the suspect in the beheading of his wife, 23-year-old Jessica Bullock, and their own three-month-old son in Blumenau, in the Itajai valley. O BUT+ managed to contact the parents’ lawyers, who sent an official note describing the events after the murder.
In the document, the family says they learned about the crime from Jessica’s family around 3:00 pm this Monday (25). It was at this point that they discovered that the couple’s eldest son, aged 1 year and 10 months, was missing, possibly along with Kelber Enrique Pereira.
Kelber called and said he was going to give up his son.
From that point on, family members began trying to get through to Kelber, who was not returning calls. Later on Monday (25) he called his mother to let her know that he was with his eldest son and that he wanted to have him.
Thinking that the suspect was still in Santa Catarina, the mother advised him to turn himself in to the police and leave the child with Jessica’s parents. At that point, he said he would leave his son with her “because he knew he would be well taken care of.”
Three unknown persons handed over the child to Kelber’s parents
Early on Tuesday morning (December 26), at about 00:30, three unidentified men arrived at the family’s home in the municipality of Munoz, Minnesota, one of them introduced himself as Kelber’s lawyer and handed over the child.
Still in shock, the family contacted Jessica’s family to let them know the baby was safe with them. The Kelber family stressed that they had no evidence or information about the whereabouts of the suspect or the child prior to this.
The child remained in a secret location until Kelber was arrested.
At the request of the State Ministry, the police took the child to a secret place that even the family did not know about, in order to ensure his safety until the father was found.
“Total Rejection”
The Kelber family also expressed “complete rejection of the crimes committed” by the family member and that “since she discovered what happened, she has placed herself at the disposal of the competent authorities so that justice can be done, as they value the safety of the minor and for Mr. Kelber will pay for what he did!” they say.
“To the relatives of the victim, especially the parents, the Pereira family mourns what has happened and is in deep mourning as they also lost two loved ones,” the official note ends.
This Wednesday morning (27) ND+ had access to a video of Kelber confessing to the crime and saying he used drugs.
