Singer Ricky Martin has been cleared of allegations of sexual harassment by his nephew. A 21-year-old man named Dennis Yadiel Sanchez said he was sexually harassed by his uncle, who allegedly committed incest.
However, in a virtual trial that took place this Thursday (21), he decided to withdraw the complaints, according to information posted on the TMZ website.
Thus, Martin won the lawsuit. The Puerto Rican team released a memo saying the judge had quashed a temporary restraining order issued a week ago.
“As we expected, the temporary protection order was not extended by the court. The prosecutor confirmed to the court that the decision to dismiss the case was made by him alone, without any external influence or pressure. And the prosecutor confirmed that he was satisfied with his legal representation in this case. It has never been anything more than a troublesome person making false claims without any evidence. We are delighted that our client has triumphed and is now able to move on with his life and career.”
In addition to the news informing about the course of the trial, Ricky Martin also spoke about the latest developments. On his Instagram profile, the singer shared a note containing the explanation given by his legal team and said, “The truth will prevail.”

According to the complaint, the singer’s nephew stated that he had been in a relationship with his uncle for seven months and that he would not accept the breakup, harassing him, which led to an arrest warrant. In addition, the nephew said that during their relationship he was subjected to physical and psychological abuse.
Despite the complaint, Ricky Martin’s sibling, who is also the uncle of the young man, said he did not believe in his nephew and stressed that he had mental health problems and would have left the family in recent years.
