Arrested for sexually abusing a patient during childbirth, anesthesiologist Giovanni Quintella Bezerra was transferred this Monday (11) to the Benfica prison in the Rio de Janeiro region and is due for a custody hearing this Monday (11), Tuesday (12 ) . The crime took place at the Muller Hospital in São João do Meriti in Rio de Janeiro.

Delegate Barbara Lomba from Deam (Women’s Office) in São João de Meriti said in an interview with Balanço Geral RJ that they were suspicious of the behavior of the anesthetist during unusual procedures during the month.

When the police were called from the hospital, the agents arrived at the department, where they had access to a videotape recorded by the nursing team.

According to the delegate, the members of the group were involved in three on-duty operations and decided to record the doctor’s suspicious attitude on a hidden mobile phone.

“In the first one, they already observed the same behavior. In the second member had to come up due to the need for equipment that had a problem and the man saw the doctor’s exposed penis. Between the second and third operation, they together decided that they would try to take these shots, and they managed to film it, ”he explained.

Barbara Lomba added that the video is the main evidence of the arrest at the crime scene.

“The images speak for themselves. We don’t need to go on describing it, because it’s a disgusting, terrible, indescribable, unimaginable thing. But everyone saw what happened. Here’s the crime report. The author himself, the victim, all those present. The whole dynamics of crime is there,” he added.

In addition, Lomba finds out if the anesthesiologist has increased the dose of the sedative and has not used substances unnecessarily. Used vials were collected to be sent for analysis.

Initially, when he learned about the red-handed arrest, he even asked a few questions. However, he remained silent when he was informed of the existence of the video. The doctor has not yet made a statement.

Barbara Lomba also stated that she was trying to identify other possible Giovanni victims.
