The Santa Catarina Civil Police are investigating a 19-year-old girl who claims she was drugged by an app driver during a race in Florianopolis on Sunday (26).

The passenger told the police that she had requested an early morning ride. The driver stopped to fill up the car, and at some point after stopping, she began to feel sick, dizzy. It was then that he noticed the gas inside the car, after which he opened the door and jumped out of the car.

On the same day, the young woman filed a police report with the DPCAMI (Delegation for the Protection of Children, Adolescents, Women and the Elderly).

Delegate Luis Felipe Fuentes said police should hear the passenger again this week to get more details about the context of the incident. The driver will also be heard.

The delegate also stated that the driver of the vehicle pointed out by the passenger had also drawn up a protocol. He said he was slandered on social media.

“The driver says he does not understand why this is happening and that everything happened too quickly. Let’s find out if there was any disagreement between them, a threat or an attempted coup. We will delve into the case to come to a conclusion,” Fuentes said.

The delegate adds: “At least the more serious situation has not happened.”
