At least four people died this Sunday (26) when a grandstand collapsed in El Espinal, a municipality located in southern Colombia. All of them were watching a bullfight at the time of the accident. Another 30 people are seriously injured.
In an interview with Blu Radio, the governor of the department of Tolima, Jose Ricardo Orozco, said two women, a man and a minor were among the victims. As for the wounded, he said that this is still a preliminary report and that additional data will be collected.
In social networks, frames of the moment when the stands, which were overcrowded, collapsed, are frightening.

The municipality’s defense director said the incident occurred in the midst of a “korraleha,” a traditional folk party in which the public descends into the arena to meet oxen and bulls.
The celebration takes place during the San Pedro holidays, common in the region.
“We will be asking for a suspension of these types of parties,” Orozco said. He commented that the events are an “assault on life” and promote “animal cruelty”.
The day before the accident, several people from this city were injured as a result of interaction with bulls.
