Members of the fire brigade of the Madrid City Council rescued a child whose hand was stuck in the sink at the bottom of the children’s pool, in which he bathed in a private urbanization in the Fuencarral El Pardo area.

The events took place around 6:50 pm on June 14 in a house in Ramon Gomez de la Serna Street, sources from the Madrid Ministry of Emergency Situations told Europa Press.

For reasons that are being investigated, the 6-year-old boy got his hand stuck in the sink at the bottom of the children’s pool and was unable to free it. Employees of the fire brigade of the capital city council immediately arrived at the scene, who, first with the help of their neighbors, and then on their own, managed to drain the pool.

However, in order to free their hand, they had to split open the ground at the bottom of the pool to access the drain and extract the piece of PVC, as the firefighters pointed out on their official Twitter profile.

Summa 112 medical workers first treated the boy, who still had his hand pinched, at the scene before being evacuated to La Paz hospital.

Once at the hospital center, helped with a special material for him, firefighters were able to free the limb. Despite the spectacular incident, the minor was not seriously injured.
