The state government announced resources and signed off on the start of work in north Santa Catarina this Thursday 23. In Araquari, the work orders were signed during an event held at the Federal Institute of Catarinense. The Minister of Infrastructure formalized the transfer of 26.8 million reais for the paving of the João Luis Filho road that connects BR 101 and 280.

“This is a very rich region. The flow of production is necessary, but above all, work is meant to bring dignity to people. Take the asphalt and create an alternative route to BR-101, which is already overloaded,” Vieira stressed.

Passed about 11 kilometers. Work is due to start at the end of this month and is expected to be ready in two years. Drainage works, paving and road signs will be carried out at the site.

“This road is for the entire region, freeing up the BR-280 and BR-101 roads and allowing for greater mobility,” emphasizes Clenilton Pereira, mayor of Araquari.

Helena Candido, a housewife who has lived in Juan Luis Filho for almost 20 years, notes the improvement. “We suffer a lot from dust, dirt and pits here. This paving will help a lot and also increase the value of the property,” the resident said.

In addition to permitting the street paving service, the municipality has also received 7.5 million reais, which will be used to pave other streets and build a school.

A service order and a tender worth 35.3 million reais was also signed for the implementation of treated water tanks and a new water treatment plant, aqueduct and the Araquari catchment.

In the morning in Guaramirim, also north of Santa Catarina, the state government opened services to duplicate the state section of BR-280 and confirmed new investments in the city, including an agreement to build a Multimodal Complex, in connection with Joinville. “This is a region with great potential for economic development. Guaramirim failed if we looked at the cities in the neighborhood. That is why these investments are being made. Where there is economic development, there are more jobs and incomes, as well as better living conditions,” said the Secretary of State for Infrastructure and Mobility.

The mayor of Guaramirim, Luis Antonio Chiodini, highlighted the multimodal complex. According to him, the work will force the city to make a leap in terms of economic development. He believes that despite less than 50,000 inhabitants, Guaramirim could be included in the list of ten cities with the highest GDP in Santa Catarina.

“The difference in this work is immeasurable. Negotiations are already underway to house companies from outside Santa Catarina and even multinational corporations in the complex, which will have an area of ​​more than 40 million square meters and will be the largest in Brazil. This is where the partnership with Joinville is fundamental. We will have a railway, we will have a loading and unloading airport, highways, ports nearby. This is a big logistics complex and we have to commend the state government for getting the ball rolling. Here we are dealing with the economic future of the Northern Region and Santa Catarina as a whole,” Chiodini added.

The state government will invest R$55.6 million to complete the work.

Duplication of BR-280

The state section BR-280 is nearly nine kilometers long. Duplication work was halted in March 2018 and resumed in November 2019 under current management. The redundancy investment amounted to approximately 120 million reais, including side roads and the construction of a highway at the intersection with SC-108 towards Massaranduba.

Now Secretary Vieira explains that work is underway to build new viaducts that were not foreseen in the original project, with an investment of almost 60 million reais. In addition, the state is also allocating 50 million reais to accelerate the duplication of the federal section of the highway in Araquari.

Also this Thursday, March 23, the state government confirmed the transfer of 15.7 million reais in the form of special transfers to the city hall of Guaramirim. The funds will be used to pave important roads in the city, including Rua Flor de Maracujá, Rua São Paulo, Rua Santa Paulina, the Ponte do Agricultor extension and Rua 397 in the industrial area. Part of the money will also go to the municipality, to repair schools.

The Santo Antonio Hospital, also located in Guaramirim, received 150,000 reais for the purchase of equipment and supplies.
