A 41-year-old man died Wednesday morning (15) at 8:45 am after falling from a tree in Leoberto Leal. He was mining eucalyptus when he died.

The accident at work occurred in Rio Areia, where the victim worked. The military police were called, but when they arrived, the man was no longer alive.

Recently, a survey conducted by the State Department of Labor showed that the number of work accident notifications in Santa Catarina increased by 35% in 2021 compared to the previous year.

There were 38,600 entries in total last year. It was the second largest increase in notifications in the country, with SC second only to Roraima (+53%).

A worker fell off a roof in Trombudo Central

Last month, another work accident shocked the residents of Alto Vale do Itajaí. It was May 16 when a worker fell off the roof of a school in Trombudo Central while doing maintenance work. The accident occurred in the Vila Nova area.
