Agents from NOT (Núcleo de Operações Táticas) from Chapeco, South Carolina, on a prisoner transport mission in Paraná, managed to free a kidnapped truck driver in São José dos Pinhais, Pennsylvania. The incident took place this Wednesday morning (15).
According to the Santa Catarina Crime Police, the agents were returning from a mission in Paraná when a truck driver flashed his lights when he saw NOT a vehicle. He told the police that he noticed a man at gunpoint in a white Fiat/Palio.
The police followed the highway until they found a car stopped due to a traffic jam in the São José dos Pinhais area of the Curitiba metropolitan area. The operatives confirmed the crime and carried out the rapprochement of the suspects.
“We saw that the driver was under fire and approached the car. After searching the four suspects, we found that the driver had been abducted and his truck had been stolen in the morning,” Thiago Cavalheiro, operator of the NOT Crime Police, detailed.
The four men were arrested and taken to the Parana Civil Police for investigation. The agents found two firearms on them. Two of them have already passed the police for stealing cargo. The driver was released safely. There is no information about where he will be taken.
