President of Castile-La Mancha, Emiliano Garcia-Pagewill become honorary president Connect Cluban association of journalists and communicators from Castilla-La Mancha in Madrid that seeks to promote the region beyond its borders.

Today, the association of journalists and communicators of Castilla-La Mancha in Madrid, Club Conecta, presented its program and directions of action to the President of the Junta of Castilla-La Mancha, Emiliano García-Page. At a meeting held at the Fuensalida Palace, headquarters of the President of the Government of Castile-La Mancha, García-Page confirmed that he would chair the association’s advisory council with honor.

The 75 members who already belong to the association include journalists, public relations directors of large companies and directors of national media such as Nacho Cardero (Confidential), Amador G. Ayora (Economist), Fernando Pastor (Information), Casimiro J. Abadillo (Independent), Paco Rosell (People’s voice) or Esther Esteban (Spanish-digital CLM).

The regional executive leader took the opportunity to highlight the region’s economic data, including the decline unemployment rate in recent years to attract foreign investment and new companies.

In addition, García-Page shared with journalists the importance of the role of Castile-La Mancha as an autonomy in terms of providing basic services to citizens, focusing on the state of the “chest” for the development and integration of the National Territory.

Meeting with the mayor of Toledo Carlos Velazquez

After a visit to the Government Presidium, members of the association met with the mayor of Toledo, Carlos Velázquez, to whom they proposed to host a breakfast in Madrid in the first quarter of the year to present the most visible government initiatives that will be implemented, the city council serving in this legislative body.

The Mayor of Toledo congratulated Club Conecta for helping to disseminate current information, as well as for projects that make Toledo a better city to invest, live and work.

Velázquez stressed that Toledo has a heritage that would be the envy of many European capitals and this cooperation is positive as it unlocks its full potential.

Esther Esteban, President of the Club Conecta Association, emphasized: “We were born as a group of journalists tied to the land, but we have established ourselves as an association that continues to grow and highlight all the good that Castilla-La Mancha has and does. . Much of its artistic, gastronomic and cultural heritage is still unknown to much of the rest of Spain and, based on our position in the media and companies, we want to help make it more visible. We also aim to contribute to the restoration of the rural environment of the region and avoid the depopulation of the municipalities of Castilla-La Mancha, promoting sustainable development.”

As its first public event in Madrid, Club Conecta will host the “University and Work of the Future” day in collaboration with the University of Castilla-La Mancha. This will take place on November 22 next year at the Caixa Forum headquarters and will be attended by various representatives from the education, business and government sectors.
