Volvo has just unveiled the EX30, a 100% electric and high-tech compact SUV with a strong focus on safety and sustainability. The launch took place on September 14 at the Jockey Club of Rio de Janeiro and was broadcast live on YouTube.

To make this moment even more special, Dimas Volvo, the brand’s exclusive dealership in Santa Catarina, invited customers to watch the live broadcast in its stores while enjoying a cup of delicious coffee.

According to Marcelo Kronemberger, commercial director of Volvo Car Brasil, the EX30 is the carmaker’s big bet in the coming years, since in the first days of pre-sales it was already possible to determine market acceptance and create a connection with the segment. that before the EX30, I considered the possibility of a Volvo as something more distant.

The EX30 is Volvo’s smallest SUV, measuring 4.2 meters long and 18 meters high. It has rear traction and produces 272 hp. and torque 343 Nm; It goes from zero to 60 mph in 5.7 seconds in the entry-level version and 5.3 seconds in the extended-range versions. Its trunk has a volume of 320 liters with the possibility of adding another 15 liters. The car also has storage space for items such as sunglasses and headphones.

Prices range from 219,950 to 279,950 reais, making the EX30 the cheapest premium model in this category, and it can be purchased with a battery capacity of 51 or 69 kWh, depending on the need for use, which can provide a range of approximately 340 or 470 kilometers. respectively.

In addition to the attractive cost-benefit ratio, the car is 100% electric and has a fast charging feature, charging the battery from 10% to 80% in approximately 25 minutes.

The Volvo EX30 is available in five colors, including the exclusive Moss Yellow. It also has four types of customizable interiors: Breeze – inspired by summer days; Mist – inspired by the light of dawn; Pine – inspired by Scandinavian forests and Indigo – inspired by dusk.

Interestingly, the interiors are not only inspired by nature and fashion, but also made from environmentally friendly materials. About 25% of all aluminum, 17% of all steel and plastic used in the EX30 are recycled, and approximately 30% of decorative elements use recycled plastics, as well as recycled and renewable surfaces.

And if we talk about environmental friendliness, then according to Volvo, this is the model with the lowest level of carbon dioxide emissions from the brand: less than 30 tons per 200 thousand km.

Safety is already an official Volvo brand and the EX30 is no exception. The car has Safe Space technology, which warns of approaching cyclists and motorcyclists if the doors are open. It also has a sensor that can detect the driver’s eye and facial movements, detecting if the driver is distracted, drowsy or inattentive. Another thing to pay attention to is the parking assist system, which allows the car to park itself.

Additionally, the EX30 features a 12.3-inch multimedia center with built-in Google apps and wireless Apple Carplay connectivity. The system also has 5G connectivity.

Over a thousand units sold

In just five days of pre-sales, more than a thousand units of the EX30 were sold: 136 in Santa Catarina, 60 units in Florianópolis, 40 in Balneario Camboriu and 36 in Blumenau, according to a survey by Dimas Volvo.

According to Volvo, Ultra is the most popular version and takes up more than half of the volume. The most sought after colors are Vapor Gray and Onyx Black and when it comes to finishes, Indigo is the most sought after.

Another interesting fact is that 90% of customers who purchase an EX30 are dealing with Volvo for the first time. In addition, more than half of buyers are under 45 years old, indicating that the EX30 is a model aimed at a younger audience.
