The tech companies haven’t made any announcements yet, but as of Monday (17th), Crisium has been celebrating the arrival of 5G technology. That’s because Councilor Nicola Martins, who was the author of a number of proposals to speed up the passage of the law on the installation of antennas, took to his social networks to note this fact.

Crisium has for many years been considered the city with the strictest legislation regarding the installation of 3G and 4G antennas. For a long time, the city suffered from the lack of a better signal due to the resistance of groups opposed to the installation of this equipment.
However, this time the city was one of the first to pass a law regulating the installation of the former 5G. The project, approved in Crisium, was soon adapted to several other cities in Santa Catarina.
Access to 5G technology is already available in Crisium from mobile phones that receive this signal. Two antennas from the operator Vivo have already been installed and are in operation in the municipality: one on Jorge da Cunha Carneiro, Bairro Michel, and the other on Avenida Getúlio Vargas, Centro. The deadline for arrival was 2026.
With 5G, the browsing speed of mobile phones should increase by almost 20 times. For industry, the possibility of more connections and faster response times will help improve manufacturing processes. For the public sector, 5G facilitates greater integration between systems and the collection of urban data for more active public policy.
