After the warmest months of March and April on record, intermittent rain is forecast for Wednesday in the north, with heavy rain possible in Catalonia. According to Metored, the temperature in the peninsula and the Balearic Islands, especially in the Mediterranean Sea, will drop. However, areas of Andalusia will still reach 35ºC. There will be strong trade winds in the Canary Islands.

Between Wednesday and Thursday, high pressure will move from south to north, causing a change in wind direction to the north-northeast. Temperatures will drop again on Thursday, with heavy rain expected in the far north and snow levels falling to 1,500 meters. Severe storms are expected in Catalonia, which will affect other points in the east in the afternoon.

During Friday, a cold air mass will arrive from the north, which in some places can complicate the forecast. Storms will be more intense on the Mediterranean and Balearic slopes. In addition, showers are expected over most of the north, while the west and south are less likely. Temperatures will continue to fall, especially inland. Most of Spain will have temperatures below average climate values, with snow levels ranging from 1,500 to 1,700 meters in the center and north.

It is possible that more than half a meter of snow will accumulate in the Pyrenees, as well as snow in the Cordillera, Cantabria, the Central system, the Sierra Nevada and the Iberian system. Thus, precipitation in the form of rain and snow is expected from Wednesday, a general drop in temperature and strong thunderstorms are possible in some places.
