If for many the new year is synonymous with new life, then for Grupo Dimas 2023 will be the year of a new banner and new opportunities. This is because Great Wall Motor, also known as GWM, is the newest brand introduced by the Santa Catarina company.
Currently, GWM is the largest private Chinese manufacturer and officially launched in Brazil in November 2022. It is assumed that by the first half of 2023, 50 commercial outlets will operate. Among the 28 partners responsible for the sale of services and cars is the Dimas Group.
In Santa Catarina, Dimas Automóveis will represent the brand in Greater Florianopolis and in the cities of Balneario Camboriu, Blumenau and Joinville. The chain’s first store in Santa Catarina is due to open in March 2023 in San Jose.
Great Wall Hawal H6
The first vehicle to be sold by GWM will be the Haval H6, a plug-in hybrid SUV that is scheduled to go on sale in the first half of the year. Initially, the model will be imported from China, but the automaker plans to start production in Iracemapolis, in the hinterland of Sao Paulo.
With the arrival in Brazil, the model will receive exclusive details: a more aggressive look, especially with regard to the design of the front. The Haval logo is smaller and different. In addition, the car’s exterior will also get a gloss black finish, roof rack, rear spoiler and trim. 19-inch alloy wheels are also exclusive to our country.
Today Haval H6 is a competitor to Jeep Compass and Jeep Commander. Its mechanical set stands out, mainly because it’s a plug-in hybrid that can be charged from the mains, contains three engines – two electric, one on each axle, and one combustion engine up front.
One of the positive aspects of the model is also the size. It has a length of 4.65 m, a width of 1.88 m, a wheelbase of 2.74 m and a boot volume of 560 liters, which is very close to the competition.
In addition, it is worth mentioning the comfort provided by the car. For tall people traveling in the back seat, there is good news: it is considered very cozy and spacious. Of the amenities – two USB-inputs and exits to the air conditioner.
While driving, the car offers an experience close to an electric car. The battery has 34 kWh and promises to be enough for a range of up to 170 km in electric mode and on the NBR cycle. GWM itself stated that the fast current model charges up to 80% in 29 minutes. Even with a slow current, a full recharge can take up to 10 hours.
And the model also promises better fuel economy as it uses less internal combustion engine. The brand indicates that the H6 can achieve approximately 28.7 km/l in the city and 25.3 km/l on the road in the Brazilian cycle.
The gearbox has two marks for the internal combustion engine – one for medium and one for higher speeds, which helps to improve performance and reduce fuel consumption. Already at low speeds, electric motors gain autonomy.
With GWM, Grupo Dimas is betting even more on technological innovation, combined with the environmental friendliness of vehicles produced by the automaker, which is the first in Brazil to produce fully hybrid and electric models.
Ricardo Dimas, CEO of Dimas Automóveis, says the group went through a rigorous selection process over several months to become one of the GWM dealers in the country. He points to the credibility of the Dimas name as an important factor in the process helping the Chinese automaker to position itself among the market leaders.
