Joinville and São Francisco do Sul in the north of Santa Catarina can already get 5G service. The novelty was announced by Anatel (National Communications Agency) on Wednesday (14), and now the offer of services in both cities depends only on the operators.

The prediction was that the two municipalities in Santa Catarina, as well as other Brazilians already ready to receive the technology, would only release the strip in January. However, this measure was foreseen by the responsible group.
The exemption does not mean that cities will receive networks immediately, as this depends on the planning of operators. See the municipalities released for 5G use this week:

For cities with more than 500,000 inhabitants, carriers must activate 5G in July 2025.
